I have the Osterizer "Beehive" which came with a glass jar. I like this so much better; it is so lightweight and easy to clean.

My Son dropped my glass blender jar on the marble floor, It broke into many, many pieces! I love my oster blender and did not want to buy an entire new one. So I went straight to Amazon and searched for a new jar, walla...plastic and a perfect fit! No more broken Blender!

I am pretty happy with the blender jar, although it does not seem as good as the glass original. It's a little noisier blending up frozen stuff, but overall it works fine.

We use our blender nearly every day (smoothies, etc). Having a nice plastic carafe is wonderful! You need to be careful to insure that the base is FIRMLY attached to the carafe to avoid any mishaps, however. The base does not seal as well on the plastic carafe as it did on our previous glass one. However, the safety of not having a heavy glass carafe is well-worth the "safety check" before using!
